Lash extensions are semi-permanent fibers attached to your natural eyelashes intended to make your natural lashes look fuller and longer. An individual lash extension is applied to a single natural lash utilizing semi-permanent eyelash extension glue. Lash extensions are made of different types of materials and can be different lengths, curls, and thickness.
How long is the application process?
A full set application process can take anywhere between 2-3 hours, this is dependent on how many natural lashes you have and the type of set you are booking for. A fill can take anywhere between 1- 2 hours.
How long do they last?
A full set of classic or hybrid lashes should last 2 weeks before needing a lash fill. Volume lashes can last 2-3 weeks. Retention is very much dependent on how well you follow aftercare instructions.
Is there anything I should do before my appointment?
Yes!
PLAN TO BE ON TIME Arriving on time or before will allow you time for you and your artist to discuss the style you’d like or make any adjustments to your current set.
NO CAFFEINE Caffeine can make your eyes jittery and jumpy. This makes it extremely difficult to isolate a single lash and apply a single lash to your natural lash.
NO MAKEUP, CLEAN FACE AND EYES Lashes do not stick to dirty lashes. Coming in with dirty lashes will affect your retention. You will not be able to get your lashes wet for 24 hours after your appointment so it’s best not to wear makeup.
BE PREPARED TO LIE DOWN FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS Be sure to wear comfortable clothing, silence your phone, and use the restroom prior to your appointment.
What are the aftercare instructions?
Do not get your eyelashes wet for the first 24hours after your lash appointment
Wash lashes daily using lash shampoo and brush (these can be purchased in studio). Always brushing down in the direction of the lash growth.
Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes.
Do not use eyelash curlers or mascara on your extensions. Also try to avoid heavy eye makeup and waterproof eyeliner.
Brush lashes daily with spoolie. However do not brush when wet.
If you must use makeup remover use only oil-free.
Use care when applying facial and eye creams to avoid the lash line.
Can I still wear eye makeup?
Yes, you can still wear eyeliner and eye shadow, however it must not be waterproof or liquid as these products can break down the adhesive. Instead use eye shadow or gel liner for eyeliner. MASCARA MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO LASH EXTENSIONS!! Mascara will ruin the lash extensions and removal will be required. Always ensure you remove all make up and are using a remover or cleanser that is OIL-FREE, oil based products will breakdown the adhesive and cause the lash extensions to fall out.
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
No, with proper lash extension application and after care, natural lashes
will not be damaged.
Does having lash extensions applied hurt?
NO! Eyelash extensions should not ever hurt!
How long do lash extensions last?
Lash extensions can last indefinitely, however they do require 2-3 week fills to maintain their fullness. The longevity of lash extensions is dependent on the natural eyelash growth cycle (this is different for everyone).
