FAQs

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo procedure meant to mimic the look of hair. It is achieved through pigment strokes implanted in the skin with a small blade made up of tiny, sterilized, single-use needles. This technique creates a fuller and more natural looking brow. It is not recommended for clients that have oily or large pored skin as Microbladed strokes may fade faster on those clients.

What are Powder Brows?

Powder Brows are a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo procedure meant to create a fuller and more defined brow, than Microblading. However, it is still very soft and natural. It is achieved through the use of a tattoo machine and a sterilized single-use needle that deposits thousands of tiny pigment drops into the skin. It is called Powder because the tails of the brows are darker while fading to a soft powdery front of the brow. This is a good technique for any skin type.

What are Combo Brows?

Combo brows are a combination of Microblading and Ombré Powder. This cosmetic tattoo procedure is achieved through creating Microblading hair strokes in the front of the brow and Ombré Powder from the middle to tail of the brow.

Who shouldn't get cosmetic tattooing done?

  • Individuals under the age of 18

  • Individuals who are pregnant or nursing

  • Individuals who are diabetic or epileptic

  • Individuals with keloid scars, eczema, or psoriasis near the brows

  • Individuals with transmutable blood diseases (HIV, Hepatitis, etc.)

  • Individuals taking blood thinners

  • Individuals on Accutane (Must wait 1 year after last dose)

  • Individuals actively undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy

  • Individuals with botox in the area (Must wait at least 4 weeks after injectables before undergoing a cosmetic tattoo procedure)

Do any of the above procedures hurt?

Pain-tolerance is subjective, however most clients describe minimal to no pain at all. We use two topical high-efficacy anesthetics, one cream (prior to the service) and one gel (during the service).

What is the healing process like?

Healing takes about days. You should expect the following:

Day 1: Your brows will be vibrant and perfectly shaped. Any redness around the brows should subside within a couple hours.

Days 2-4: Brows will appear darker due to pigment oxidation and will begin to scab. You should not experience heavy scabbing and you should NEVER PEEL scabs off. Instead allow the scabs to flake off naturally.

Days 5-7: Brows will begin to flake off naturally and may itch. NEVER PEEL or SCRATCH brows.

Days 8-10: Flaking has completely subsided and brows may look light. Your skin is still healing and you should expect your brows to continue to look like until about weeks 2-3.

Weeks 2-3: Brows should be back to their full shape and color.

Week 6: You will return for your touch up. During this appointment you have the opportunity to make any adjustments to your brows. Typically clients choose to go fuller and darker at this appointment after seeing their 1st session healed results.

Is there any pre-care I should follow?
